BlackJack Strategy
Ultimately, the house always had an edge in online Black Jack. But if you play methodically, and hit, stand, double down or split your cards based on what the dealer has in his hand, you will reduce the edge to a minimum and thus improve your chances of hitting a winning streak, and making money.
Definitions:
Hit
After adding up the total of your first 2 cards, you can draw more cards from the dealer until you stand or go bust (total over 21).
Stand
Standing or Sticking means you do not draw anymore cards.
Double Down
You double your bet and then you draw only 1 more card. If you think your first 2 cards gives you a good chance to beat the Dealer and win the game, you may Double-Down.
Split
If your 1st 2 cards are of equal value, you have the option of splitting them into 2 separate hands by betting an equal amount and drawing cards as usual. If you split two aces at most online blackjack sites and 1 of your hands totals 21, this is 21, not BlackJack.
Insurance
We do not recommend taking out Insurance which is an additional bet on its own. If you reckon the dealer has black jack, you may guard your bet. Just concentrate on the standard online BlackJack bets- this just reduces your odds.
